Schatte Solo Acoustic Live Taping April 13th!

Michael Schatte Films Live Concert At Trenton’s Old Church Theatre

Michael Schatte, one of Canada’s finest guitarists and songwriters, will bring his eclectic blend of roots music back to The Old Church Theatre in Trenton on Friday, April 13th. Having sold out his last performance there in 2017, it was decided that his second appearance should be captured for future release. Says Schatte, “I’m delighted that this show will be filmed, given how successful the 2017 concert was. My solo acoustic work has a kind of dynamic intimacy that gets intensified in a small, historically interesting venue like The Old Church Theatre. I thought it’d be fun to try to capture that vibe in high definition!”

Those who attend (ticket prices are $20 in advance, $25 at the door) will be part of a live concert film, as well as treated to an unforgettable evening of original rock, folk, blues, and celtic music from the musician recently dubbed by a British music publication “one of the best undiscovered songwriters of our times.”

Michael Schatte (pronounced SHAW-tee) has emerged as one of the most compelling guitarists and singer/songwriters on the North American roots music scene. Since early 2015, when he was a top-eight finalist at the Memphis International Blues Challenge and performed at Tennessee’s historic Orpheum Theatre, Schatte has appeared on some of the continent’s best festival and theatre stages, winning new fans and a reputation for world-class musicianship by way of more than 200 concerts in Canada and the United States. He has often been compared to artists such as folk-rock legend Richard Thompson and Canada’s own Colin James.

The April 13th show will feature brand new songs slated for release on his forthcoming album, as well as fan favourites from his latest CD, Turn Back the Vikings.  Details on poster below. Tickets link here.
